This plein air painting was done at the Summit Transfer Station, aka the Summit Dump. All aficionados of the dump will recognize it instantly. I wasn’t sure I would be allowed to paint there so I found a place to set up my easel where it would be out of the way. Just as I got my paint on the palette and was blocking out the composition I heard a shout and saw several workers running my way. Darn! As they got closer I realized they were offering to move the trucks out of the way!! I said, “NO, I want the trucks right where they are” and they kept them still till I finished!
